I’m Ruth, the person behind Coull Designs.

I’ve always been drawn to things that are both beautiful and useful. As a child, I’d draw people in different outfits and spend my pocket money on little glasses, ornaments and pictures from charity shops and jumble sales. I have always loved how things looked, but I am just as interested in how they work. That combination of creativity and practicality has stayed with me. I’m excited by a clever idea, an unexpected find, a beautiful object or a simple change that makes something work better.



I’ve also always been someone who wants to help. Whether that’s lending a hand when someone needs it, offering a different perspective, finding a solution to a problem or helping someone see what might be possible for their life or business, I like making a difference in whatever way I can. I’m a useful person to know!

Coull Designs brings these parts of me together through design, art, wellbeing and everyday life. It’s a place for things I’ve created, things I’ve discovered and chosen to share, and ideas and services that help people make more of their spaces, their projects and themselves.

I’m interested in individuality, in finding potential where others might not see it, and in how the world around us shapes our everyday lives. Our surroundings can affect our mood, our habits, our health and even what we believe is possible for ourselves. The spaces we live in, the things we surround ourselves with and the choices we make all play a part in how we feel and live.

I like looking at the bigger picture and exploring the connections between things, whether that’s how our environment affects our wellbeing, how creativity can change the way we see a problem, or how a small change in one area can have a wider impact on our lives. I enjoy finding ways to bring together different ideas and perspectives to make a genuine difference to everyday life.

For me, creating and curating is about more than what we own or how our surroundings look. It’s about how we live, what matters to us and how we can make life work a little better, while making room for the things that bring us joy.
